Christmas Letter 2012

I think everyone I love/care about should have this by now, so I'll post this for the rest of you peons.

This letter kept escalating. What was supposed to be a quick thing to write the day after Christmas and mail out by that Friday became an increasingly big project, with multiple trips to Office Max for toner, paper, and  more cards (after we ran out!), and to the post office. We finally did mail them before Epiphany, if only just.

A Night Before Christmas.

'Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the place,
The Resident Murloc was running a race.
The stockings weren't hung by the chimney with care,
For last minute panic caused her to despair.

"C'mon sweetie," I mentioned, "let's snuggle in bed."
"No time for that now, I'll sleep when I'm dead.
Now working, now toiling, now wrapping the presents,
All of this work is for you malcontents.

"I've decor to hang up and presents to wrap.
So help me with this or just shut your yap."
Her jaw was clenched firm, her eyes were quite glary,
Her nose blew out flame, the site was so scary.

I thought it might be beneficial to ease
Her stress levels so I gave her a tease.
"You're so cute when your anxious. Did you know your belly
Shakes when you fuss, like a bowl full of jelly?"

More fright'ning than grizzlies, her fury it came,
She cussed, and shouted, and called me such names.
I spoke not a word, but just turned and fled.
Knowing she'd give me something to dread.

Hot on my neck, I could feel her spit spatter.
I sprang under the bed to avoid the whole matter.
But I heard her exclaim, 'ere I dove out of sight,
"I'll get you, I promise, you'll die this dark night!"

Yeah, I'm no Clement Moore, but it's 3am. Gimme a break.

Merry Christmas!

We mailed this on Saturday. You may or may not receive one in the next few days. Depends on how much we like you.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2010, er, 2011!

What We're Playing.
Volume 1

I meant to post this earlier, but for all of you poor saps who we deemed unworthy of receiving this on a physical medium, you too can bask in the greatness of Belland piano playing. Happy (belated) Christmahanukwanzakapiphone.

Let me add that "Dawn", as performed by Mrs. Pickles is my new favorite piece, and that Dave should legally change his middle name to "Vladimir Horowitz".

Alma Redemptoris Mater.

Loving Mother of our Savior, hear thou thy people's cry
Star of the deep and Portal of the sky!
Mother of Him who thee from nothing made.
Sinking we strive and call to thee for aid:
Oh, by what joy which Gabriel brought to thee,
Thou Virgin first and last, let us thy mercy see.

In the year 3000, they call it "Xmas".
And Santa is a deranged killer robot that delivers vengeance for all your wrongdoings.

PhotoDump.

'Twas the night before Christmas

And all through the house

(I am loving my new camera. This picture was a 1/4 second shutter speed and the one before was a full half second. No tripod, just me holding the camera and they still came out clear. Image stabilizing technology FTW! /bows to the Canon gods.)

Not a creature was stirring

Except for Babe the Pig, whom we mercilessly slaughtered and ate for dinner.

Yummy!

And this kitten which, apparently, Santa put under the Christmas tree.

Merry Christmas! Have a kitten!

(Again, 0.3 second shutter speed, no blurries.)

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care (except for the ones that Isis hated with a passion and would tear down the first chance she got)

In the hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there (or maybe Grom Hellscream and Tichondrius, when they finish disemboweling this angel).

Somethingsomethingblahblah Merry Xmas to all and to all a good night!
