Once they're old enough to open their dresser drawers, they're old enough to put away their OWN laundry! (folding takes another year -- great Montessori exercise!) And once they can read the settings on the washer & dryer, they get their own laundry basket and own laundry day! When you have to do 15+ loads of laundry a week, you delegate as soon as you can!
Pssh. I'm skipping the "folding area" and "dresser & closet" already, and we only have two kids. @_@
