I think this highlights the basic difference between pro-life and pro-choice. Pro-lifers see children, basically, as a joy. Pro-choicers see them, primarily, as a burden.

The girl on the Turtle mount won first place in the costume contest. I would like to point out that it was a fully functioning turtle mount, that would move, swing its legs, and open its mouth.

The first person to guess the true identity of biker-Lich King will win the great honor of being the last person slaughtered when his army of leather-clad ghouls overruns the world.

Blizzcon 2008: The Making of a Costume.

I didn't take that many pictures at Blizzcon this year, and those I did take didn't come out well. You'll probably be able to find better pictures on the official website.

So instead, I'm posting "behind the scenes" photos of the making of the Murloc's costume: the Sorceress from Diablo II.

She put an incredible amount of time and effort into this costume and I think it shows. She actually took a leatherworking class to be able to make the bracers, greaves, belt, neckpiece, and hairclip. The staff was handmade and painted entirely by her (except for the runes, which were etched in by a friend).

I'll try to get her to log in to comment on these pictures.

You'll note that the International Earth Destruction Advisory Board has updated the Earth-Destruction Alert Level (EDA Level) to "Red". A "Red" EDA Level indicates that the Earth has been destroyed. If the Earth had not been destroyed, the EDA Level would be set at "Green".

It somehow gives me comfort knowing the future of the country is in the hands of people like that girl. To paraphrase Mark Steyn, if I raise my 1.2 Perfect Children™ to have a fear of guns, and others raise their 5 or 6 to be able to field strip an AR-15 in under a minute, into whose hands am I commending the future?
